Ever since I started riding I have been putting things in the gap
between the axle and the dropouts to stop the wheel moving
forward and the chain getting looser. An old axle cut in half or a
ball from the unsealed BB bearings would do the job in most
cases.
Now we have spent some more time developing the idea, and
have come up with these washers that work as axle blockers.
These are the first prototypes, and the team has been testing them
since June. So far things seem to work fine, and the blockers are
doing the job.
The black washers on the picture are the current prototypes, and
the idea is rather simple (no pun intented). You find the right size
to fill out the gap in the slot between the axle and the end of the
dropout, and this will work in the same way as if you slammed
your wheel all the way forward. You chain can not get loose.
You will get a complete kit that covers pretty much all modern
bike setups, and simply just choose the size needed for your bike.
The middle drawing is the next version, which is smaller, and
which will have 2 options to lower production cost... Stay tuned!
